George III Original Painted Gothic Bookcase ( sold )
A stunning George III period, Country House scale, gothic breakfront bookcase dating from around 1810. Crenellated top, with large open shelves below and cupboard base, the whole dry scraped back to its most wonderful original paint.

By repute this came from Killymoon Castle, Cookstown, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland, designed by John Nash.
It was bought by Isabel and Julian Bannerman from Robert Kime for Hanham Court, then sold by them in 2010 through Christie’s along with around three hundred other lots.
