A very rare, mid 19th century terracotta mantlepiece figure of a Canova lion, stamped 'J M Blashfield Millwall And Paddington London'. This lion has firing faults, as it obviously had air pockets trapped in the terracotta before it was fired, which has resulted in several bubbles around the base, several which have burst.
