A remarkable, Anglo Roman carved limestone sarcophagus circa AD 300. Oblong in form, a stone box for interment, with curved ends and standing on its original stone feet. Carved with a central roundel, within an oblong panel of strigillated decoration, flanked by twisted columns. The curved end panels with foliate decoration, within a circular border with spearheads, the whole rim bordered with egg and dart decoration.
