Pair Of Coade And Sealy Coadstone Ionic Capitals ( sold )
A rare pair of early 19th century Coadstone Ionic capitals, stamped Coade And Sealy Lambeth. Finely cast, the scrolled ends with moulded line detail , the sides centred with Anthemion over a bold egg and dart border, very similar Coade examples can be found on the exterior of the British Museum ( please see last image ) In generally good condition, retaining traces of old paint, some nibbles and losses.
