A fascinating and very rare, George III period, marquetry picture in the Cottage Orne` or Swiss style, popular in the early 19th century. Made by J H Grigg, comprising of three hundred pieces of wood, depicting a house in the Highlands, where George III entertained the Scottish clans with games. On the reverse you can find two original labels, one explaining the picture and its construction and the other J H Griggs patronage by the Duke of Wellington.
