Large Early 18th Century Italian Baroque Armorial Cartouche ( sold )
The most wonderfully decorative and large scale, standing at well over four feet high and three feet wide, Italian, Baroque period, armorial cartouche. Carved in pine and walnut, with beautiful bold scroll detail, grotesque masks to the top and base, the whole retaining traces of its original polychrome and gilt decoration. With some losses, old restoration and retouching over the years and traces of old woodworm, it's just a beautiful thing.
