Pair of Roman terracotta fragments from a frieze ( sold )
A wonderfully decorative pair of Roman terracotta Campana relief fragments, dating to around 500 AD. Depicting battle scenes with figures and horses, modelled in high relief, fragmentary and with later elements, reconstructed.
These panels have been subject to a thermoluminescence analysis by Oxford authentication, both were found to be produced between 1200 and 1800 years ago, on one the area to the top right corner was found to be a later addition, the purchaser will be supplied with these reports.
